St. Joseph's roundup: Number five with a bullet

-Joanna Shapes of The Hatchet has the story. Dan Greene has more on Rob Diggs' impressive performance.
-Jonathan Gaither of The Daily Colonial has the recap.

-The brief recap from The Washington Times is here.

-School recaps: GW and St. Joseph's.

The Colonials played well but were unable to convert on numerous opportunities in the second half. It reminded me of the game against Auburn in the BB&T Classic earlier in the season in that it was a contest that GW should have won. However, the Colonials are now 1-5 in the A-10.

As for the final play, it happened right in front of me, and I thought it was a foul. I understand the concept of a 50-50 ball, but Maureece Rice had position and barely had to move to receive the pass from Xavier Alexander. In fact, Rice had set his feet at least a full second before he was knocked over. However, the Hawks only had five team fouls, so the Colonials would have been inbounding right in front of their bench with a little over a second to play. Did anyone else notice how quickly the referees hustled off the court after that play last night?

Tough loss, but that's how it seems to go this season. We'll be back on Saturday night when coach Joe McKeown goes for his 500th career win at Duquesne. Thanks for stopping by.
